RICLC Day at the State House
Support the Civic Education Mandate (S2233 & H7581)
It’s time to make our voices heard! Join the Rhode Island Civic Learning Coalition for a day of action at the State House. Our presence is vital to ensure legislators understand the importance of funding robust civic education for all Rhode Island students.
Whether you are a seasoned advocate or a first-timer, we need your energy to help push S2233 and H7581 across the finish line.
Event Details
When: April 2, 2026 | 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM
Where: Rhode Island State House, 1st Floor ("Bell Area")
Focus: Advocacy for Civic Education Mandate Funding
How You Can Help
We are looking for volunteers to help us cover two critical areas:
The Info Hub (Bell Area): Help staff our home base on the first floor. You'll greet passersby, distribute RICLC one-pagers, and hand out our special giveaway items to draw folks to the table.
Legislative Outreach: Head upstairs to the House and Senate chambers and committee rooms. We’ll be connecting with legislators directly as they move between meetings to share why this funding matters.
No experience? No problem. We will provide all the materials you need, including legislative flyers and talking points, to make sure you feel confident and prepared.
Can’t Make It?
If you aren't able to join us in person, you can still help! Please reach out to legislators in your personal or professional networks and encourage them to stop by the "Bell Area" between 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM to chat with our team.
Together, we can secure the future of civic learning in Rhode Island!
